Ponferrada castle

An impressive wee medieval fella. The auld king felippe ii - that's Phillip second of Spain as opposed to the Greek one in the uk - held firm against the Saracens here or as the Saracens would tell you - apart from month python who else would want ponferrada - nonetheless it's an impressive fortress for it's time - I say this with authority as I was born in december1962 and although I was due in November I could only hold out for four weeks in my less than impressive fortress back then, but that's another story best told by my mum and incorporating school uniforms.
