Montes de Oca, Atapuerca and joy of Riopico before arriving in Burgos from the camino

Kicking a ball makes for a wonderfully disobedient companion! The stretch from villambistia through montes des oca is just a beautifully quiet stretch and fairly easy walking!

Camino 2019 April 3rd - April 24th

Santander sees Stu & I arrive qt 10pm and then its either Burgos or San Sebastian for breakfast on the 4th.

The big decision is probably whether we walk Burgos to Eirexi

or

Pamplona to Burgos

There's a lot of drinking as you head from Pamplona to Logrono.

Not least at Fuente d'irache.

I got a bottle of it to take home one year.

It was very nice thank you!

We've got plenty of time to decide on the journey and with Stu disappearing off to Alicante halfway I'll be looking to carry on for another 10 days with the many pilgrims we'll meet on the trail.

Logrono to Burgos has a lot of appeal too, not least as you get a decent break at Azofra.

"Time will tell" as Life Support famously sung in 1982.

More legends of the camino!

Michel-Andre and Bernadette from Quebec in 2011

Andre showed me a picture of Bernadette when they started the camino!

He kept offering a bite of his apple when they reached the next town

That apple last a long way!

and three years later in St Juan de Ortega 2014

Silke, Diego and Simone

Two Berliners sandwiched by a Spaniard

Silke and Simone were finishing their camino and Diego was the happy recipient of a Rucsac!
