For those who like numbers we will be doing 9/10/11 on 27/28/29th of May but we will stop at Villafrance Montes de oca

On the 30th we will walk to Burgos from villafranca Montes des OCA stopping in San Juan (12km) arriving by noon and lunch or drink. It's a steep climb and two brutal up and downs as you can imagine losing altitude does go well just after the monument to the civil war victims.

Ages (+3km) arriving 1pm-2pm flat road and forest walk

Atapuerca (+3km) arriving 2pm-3pm flat road work

and then over the hill to cardenuela Rio Pico (5km) for 5pm. Sharp mica quartz ripping the arse out of your soles while your sticks slide across the rock. The views make it worthwhile and it's 2 hours for such a short distance but it's good.

For those who have the energy

Orbaneja (+3km) gentle road work 40mins

Edge of burgos 6km gentle walking around airport

Then bus from edge of town or 6km walk by the river finishing at our apartment around 9pm!

On Tuesday we walk out of burgos with our target destination hornillos del Camino. We stop at the edge of town by the university after 4km. Some nice cafe with an iberian ham roll and some tortilla breakfast. For some it will top up they're earlier scran from the nearby cafes in Burgos and for Fat Al it'll be an extra 30mins in bedroom.

We should make tardajos by 12, Rabe by 1 and hornillos by 4pm. A taxi back about 6pm after a few bevvies makes plenty sense to me.

This is a good stopping point but for those who want to go further another 10km takes you to Hontanas another fabulous pueblo with another 9km taking you to castrojeriz.
