News JUST IN! Yes, just when you thought we could only report on the USA by talking from the East Coast we've gone to Colorado and heard that 2017 will see Alfie on Camino age 5!
To be honest, Alfie was on Camino age 0(-6) months when Elissa decided it was time to head to Santiago and fly home.
So, back to news just in, Jarrod, Elissa and Alfie are heading out to do some of the camino they didn't get a chance to back in 2011.
So my tip is this - DO THE FLAT BITS!
On the basis that you left in Astorga, I suggest you join back in there. I also suggest that you book ahead as the rules have changed, you need to book ahead especially if you dont want to rough it!
Astorga to Rabanal is easy and you can stop at Santa Catalina or the cowboy town just beyond. Once you walk over the top of CRUZ de FERRO you arrive at El Acebo and thats got a superb mix of private rooms and a huge pool at the end of town - if you like an icy pool! Its a superb location high in the mountains and all 5 year olds will love it. Its all downhill to Molineseca so you and jarrod will have more trouble so taxi to Ponferrade where Alfie will love the castle.
